Entrepreneur & Innovation Exchange (EIX) is a philanthropic, non-profit platform dedicated to connecting rigorous thinking with real-world entrepreneurial practice. Our mission is simple: to identify and amplify ideas that genuinely help entrepreneurs, educators, their students, and innovation leaders do better work. We exist to match top minds in entrepreneurship with the audiences who can most benefit from their insights.

Below, you’ll find more detail on who we publish; the benefits of publishing for faculty, scholars, professionals and practitioners; how authors use EIX to document impact; and the publishing process.

Who We Publish

EIX is built for contributors whose work is thoughtful, credible, and grounded in either scholarly rigor or deep practical experience, including:

  • Scholars and professors advancing evidence-based insights in entrepreneurship, innovation, and related fields
  • Thought leaders shaping conversations at the intersection of research, education, and practice
  • Experienced practitioners, advisors, and ecosystem builders sharing lessons rooted in real entrepreneurial work

Our philanthropic backing – from the Schulze Family Foundation, established by Best Buy Founder Richard Schulze --  allows us to focus on impact rather than volume. We do not accept advertising, nor do we pay for our content. We are not a mass publishing outlet, nor do we aim to maximize submissions. Instead, our goal is to curate high-quality content and intentionally connect it with audiences who need it most.

Why Publish with EIX

Broad, relevant reach

EIX content is read globally by entrepreneurs, educators, executives, investors, and innovation leaders. In 2025 alone, EIX.org and FamilyBusiness.org together accumulated over 23 million page views. This level of reach and practitioner engagement is rarely seen in most disciplinary research outlets. Authors publishing with EIX reach audiences who actively apply ideas (e.g., founders, educators, advisors) while still maintaining scholarly credibility.

Peer review and editorial support

Like academic journals, we have an editorial board that peer-reviews submissions for rigorous thinking and useful, novel insights. We also have an editorial staff that works with the authors to push their thinking and explain their work more clearly to make it accessible to our readership, most of whom are practicing entrepreneurs. This developmental approach is rare at both general business journals and traditional academic journals, and it results in content that is substantive, readable, and immediately useful. While some submissions do require some time to develop, many well-thought-out and well-written submissions can be reviewed and published very quickly.

We help authors measure their impact

Unlike many outlets, EIX provides authors with direct access to readership and engagement metrics through their author dashboards. The process is straightforward.

  • Log into your EIX.org account
  • Navigate to My Account
  • View Published Articles, where authors can see publication dates and real-time page views. We provide a way to download these statistics in Excel format, making them easy to store, track, and report.

For scholars in particular, we recognize the significant labor involved in documenting impact. EIX is designed to make that process easier, more transparent, and more credible.

How faculty and scholars can use these metrics

When faculty seek to demonstrate impact to deans, department chairs, promotion and tenure committees, or other academic stakeholders, EIX metrics can be used to support several important claims:

Establishing outlet credibility: EIX is a nonprofit, peer-reviewed publication with a strong practitioner focus. It is not a predatory or pay-to-publish journal. Authors can credibly reference EIX’s philanthropic backing and rigorous editorial and review process when contextualizing their publications.

Demonstrating exceptional reach: With over 23 million annual page views across EIX platforms, EIX’s readership and visibility exceed that of many traditional research outlets. This reach is tangible, measurable, and directly relevant to conversations about scholarly influence beyond citations.

Supporting AACSB impact expectations: AACSB accreditation standards increasingly emphasize demonstrating the impact of faculty scholarship beyond traditional academic citations. EIX helps authors and institutions document that impact through transparent readership metrics and practitioner-facing dissemination. These signals are often useful in accreditation reviews, annual reports, and conversations with deans and academic leaders about societal relevance and scholarly influence.

Documenting individual scholarly impact: Authors can share article-level page views as evidence of the reach of their own intellectual contributions in faculty annual reports, tenure and promotion materials, and individual scholar profile pages. As public scholarship becomes increasingly important, translating engagement into credible signals of influence is both valuable and expected.

How professionals and practitioners can use these metrics

EIX readership and engagement metrics are equally valuable for business professionals, practitioners, advisors, and founders whose work spans organizations, clients, and entrepreneurial ecosystems. These metrics provide credible, third-party evidence of influence and thought leadership. Professionals can use EIX metrics in several ways:

Strengthening internal visibility and credibility: Business professionals and innovation leaders can use article-level page views to demonstrate thought leadership and external impact in annual performance reviews, promotion discussions, and internal talent evaluations. These metrics provide concrete evidence that ideas shared through EIX are being read and engaged with beyond the firm.

Supporting consulting and advisory work: Advisors, consultants, and ecosystem leaders can reference EIX publications and readership metrics when engaging clients or partners. Metrics help signal that their perspectives resonate with a broad and relevant audience, strengthening professional reputation and trust.

Establishing and amplifying thought leadership for founders: Entrepreneurs and founders can use EIX metrics to demonstrate thought leadership within their industries. Article engagement serves as credible proof of influence when speaking with investors, partners, customers, accelerators, and media outlets.

Extending the life and reach of professional insights: Unlike one-time talks or internal presentations, EIX publications remain discoverable and shareable over time. Ongoing readership allows professionals to demonstrate sustained relevance rather than momentary exposure.

We help promote your work

EIX actively promotes author contributions through multiple channels, including:

  • The EIX platform and newsletters
  • Our LinkedIn presence and broader social media channels – We are active on social media and we tag our authors, which increases visibility and encourages sharing.
  • Ongoing curation and resurfacing of high-impact articles

We also celebrate excellence and meaningful contribution through formal recognition programs, including:

  • The Schulze Awards -- Each year, the Schulze Publication Awards celebrate the authors of the most impactful articles published on EIX and FamilyBusiness.org during the most recent academic year (from July 1 through June 30). These awards recognize exceptional thought leadership, clarity of perspective, and the ability to bridge research and practice, inspiring entrepreneurs, educators, and family business leaders worldwide. You can see our list of current and past winners here.
  • The Wetherbe Thought Leadership Awards -- The Wetherbe awards are given to articles – published at any time in the history of our two sites --  that have reached certain viewership benchmarks. Gold Award articles have achieved at least 250,000 page views, and Platinum Award articles have achieved at least 500,000 page views. The articles reaching these viewership milestones now display a gold or platinum badge. Several of our articles have amassed more than a million page views. Learn more about the Wetherbe Awards here.
